VanGeem attended the ASHRAE SSPC 90.1 (energy efficiency standard for nonresidential buildings), SSPC 90.2 (energy efficiency standard for residential buildings), and SSPC 189.1 (high performance green buildings) winter and summer meetings, the ASHRAE SSPC 90.1 spring interim meeting, and the ASTM E60 (sustainability) spring meetings.
March and October 2018: VanGeem attended ACI meetings in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City where she was the sole recipient of the ACI Concrete Sustainability Award.

May 27-29, 2013. VanGeem presented three technical papers and was a session chair at the First International Conference on Concrete Sustainability in Tokyo, Japan.

June 18, 2012. VanGeem attended the International Standards Organization (ISO) TC 71 SC8 meeting on Environmental Management of Concrete and Concrete Structures in San Jose, Costa Rica as a U.S. Delegate.
